Anantara Sahara-Tozeur Resort & Villas

The resort is like an oasis in the middle of the desert, I really liked this atmosphere. When it’s windy it can be dusty but that’s part of the experience. We were greeted with a tasty fresh dattes juice and then accompanied to our room with an electric golf car. We got a nice surprise and got upgraded to a Sahara view villa. And by the way, I recommend paying a little more to get a Sahara view as you will be more isolated. However, we were really disappointed with the service regarding the price paid: -after we settled in our room, three times in a row (the first time was a mistake of the staff, second one to bring us bottles of water and the third time to bring us some dattes) there was a staff member entering the room without (or right after) knocking. And as there was no lock, we feel like we didn’t get any privacy. -we wanted to have lunch at the pool bar but as the resort was almost empty it took us a lot of time and some effort to find a staff member. Service and communication was bad and it took one hour to get our order. -at the pool there was no service at all, it would have been great to have someone take our drinks order. -we ask about excusions at the concierge but the guy was quit rude, we felt like we were bothering him. -service at the breakfast was bad, the table was not cleaned and we had to ask for curtains and water. The tea selection was very bad and the food selection was very rudimentary for that kind of hotel. -dinner service was slightly better but again we were expecting more. -the main disappointment was the fact that the hotel didn’t have air conditioning with daytime temperature hitting 35 degrees. We ask three times to get the air conditioning and every time we got some explanations about the fact that they are still in heating mode and they can’t switch it to cooling mode. We complained a last time at the checkout and we got the answer that we have to come back in summer to have the air conditioning.

I like the hospitality and welcoming from all staff without exception. They were very friendly, supportive, accurate in delivering their services, smiling all the time and careful to listen and provide their services and help. I like they offer room service in the evening as well , to provide water, coffee… or replace towels if I required . I like also it is very near to Touzer airport, 5 minutes

I liked how clean organised and well maintained and well equipped the hotel was. The environment was really cosy and the personnel was very kind and welcoming especially at night.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, with amazing service from the staff. It was my birthday and the staff, in particular Nizar, made my trip fantastic. They decorated the room and even got me a birthday cake. Nizar ensured that all of our needs were met and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. On my birthday it was like the entire staff knew, as everyone I passed told me happy birthday! Even after we left and had some travel issues, Nizar was only a phone call away to make sure we got to our next hotel safely. however, it can get very very very very hot, bare that in mind when booking during summer months!

The Resort is only 4 years old and everything was working good. The breakfast was very complete and all the products were top quality or well cooked. The room was very comfortable (we had one facing the desert) with a small patio with seats and a dormeuse. Also we had a great excursion at Mountain Oasis with a guide, Madib, very professional. The Concierge is very capable to fix all your needs but everyone in the staff try to do his best.
